Background History of Officine Panerai
In 1860, Giovanni Panerai opened his watch shop on the Ponte alle Grazie, located near Florence. From 1864 to 1870, Panerai develops its high precision mechanical engineering side and was an official supplier of the Royal Italian Navy. The company later becomes officially known as Officine Panerai.
Watches made between the "rebirth" of Panerai in 1993 to the acquisition of the company by the Vendome group in 1996/97 are usually called pre-Vendome Watches.

Panerai Luminor Watch collection
The Panerai Luminor is the reliable watch. It is resistant and easily readable under any conditions. The watch was intended for military use and contains distinctive characteristics that still make it unique. It has a large 44mm Arabic dial which allows anybody to easily read in the dark or under water. There is a lever device protecting the winding crown to prevent the crown from shocks and resistance to water. The Luminor Collection consists of the Luminor Base, Luminor Monopulsante, Luminor Tourbillion, Marina, Submersible, GMT, Power Reserve, Chrono, 1950 Flyback and Rattrapante.
Panerai Radiomir Watch collection
The Panerai Radiomir collection consists of the Radiomir Black Seal Automatic and the Radiomir Chronograph. The case is 45mm and made of AISI 316L steel. The Radiomir Black Seal Automatic features a slender cushion shaped case with a black dial, Arabic numerals, luminous markers, and continuous seconds at 9 o’clock. The Radiomir Chrono is a classic model with sports character. It features two chronometer push-pieces at 2 and 4 o’clock. There is a tachymeter scale on the flange and the small seconds is positioned at 9 o’clock while the minute counter is at 3 o’clock. The dial is black with luminous markers and Arabic numerals.
